DHAKA: Ruling Awami League-backed Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral poll contender and also former FBCCI president Anisul Huq promised a clean as well as green Dhaka if he is elected.
Anisul, also former FBCCI president, made the promise while presenting his election manifesto in front of the media at his election campaign office in city’s Khilkhet area on Saturday.
He said that Dhaka will be made livable after sorting out the problems of the city.
“Our philosophy is to make Dhaka suitable for both poor and rich people”, he added. “The city will uphold humanity and everyone’s rights will also be protected.”
The contender further promised that the ‘Nagar Bhaban’ (city corporation office) will not be a ‘party office’. “I will not be the ‘City Father’, rather I will be a friend of every citizen,” Anisul said.
According to his manifesto, Dhaka will be an outstanding city in next five years if he is elected.
However, Anisul has got the symbol of ‘Table Clock’ for the city poll to be held on April 28.
Ruling AL international affairs secretary and also a former minister Faruk Khan, its joint general secretary and also a former minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, PM’s advisor and also a business leader Salman F Rahman, MP Tarana Halim, among others, attended the manifesto presenting program.
