DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) Saturday sent a warning notice to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for breaching electoral code of conduct using motorcade for city polls campaigns.
Returning officer of Dhaka South City Corporation Nawabul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews adding the notice was sent to BNP central Nayapaltan office at 11:15am.
The notice contained details about how and where Khaleda violated the electoral code of conduct.
Khaleda Zia has been campaigning for city polls for six days, seeking support to BNP-backed candidates.
During the campaign, her motorcade had also come under attacks for several times allegedly carried out by the supporters of ruling Awami League.
The poll campaigning is scheduled to end on April 26 midnight while the voting will be held on April 28.
