Voting in 3-center of Dhaka south suspended

DHAKA: Voting at three centers under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) remained suspended following clash among rival councilor candidates.

Later, voting at two of the centers resumed after one hour.

Two rival councilors locked into a clash in Jatrabari’s Dhalpur Community center around 9:40am. As a result, the authorities suspended the vote casting at the center.

The voting resumed at 10:45am after an hour halt as police took the situation under control in the area, said Dhalpur Community center presiding officer Sahidur Rahman.

On allegation of irregularities, the vote casting at Bangshal’s Suritola Primary School center was postponed after 9:00am.

On the other hand, Pogoz School centre voting has been suspended around 10:15am due to clash between two councilor candidates.
