CHITTAGONG: At least 167 people including four activists of Islami Chhattra Shibir were arrested in Chittagong and Satkhira districts.
Police in special drives arrested 112 people from different areas of Chittagong district.
The drives were conducted in Satkania, Lohagara and Banshkhali Upazilas of the district between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Chittagong additional police super (south) Mohammad Habibur Rahman said along with the thana police, extra law-enforcers took part in the drives.
Among the arrestees, some were wanted in several cases, he added.
Moreover, at least 55 people including four Shibir men were arrested in Satkhira.
The arrest drives were conducted at different places of the district from Friday night to Saturday 12:00pm.
Confirming the matter, Satkhira police special branch officer-in-charge (OC) Sheikh Emdad Hossain said that the arrestees are accused in several cases including vandalism.
Among the arrestees, four were Shibir activists, he added.
