FENI: Declining bail, a Feni court on Wednesday sent 27 accused of the murder of Fulgazi upazila chairman Ekramul Haque to jail and fixed June 2 as the new date of hearing of the case.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Alamgir Mohammad Faruq issued the order when the chargesheeted accused were produced before the court amid tight security at noon.

Feni court inspector Abu Zafar Mohammad Saleh confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On May 20 of 2014, miscreants shot and burnt Fulgazi upazila chairman Ekramul Haque at Academy area of the town.

Later on August 28, Feni Model Thana police submitted a chargesheet against 56.
