Upazila chairman among 4 jailed

PANCHAGARH: A district court sent four people including Tetulia upazila chairman in a case for using electricity illegally in Desh Clinic and Diagnostic Centre at Panchagarh town.

Senior Judicial Magistrate court of Justice M Kamruzzaman sent the four accused to jail denying their bail pleas.

The accused included Telulia upazila chairman and also upazila BNP general secretary Rezaul Karim Shahin, Abul Kashem Rumel, Morshed Alam Sarkar and M Mosharraf Hossain.

According to the case statement, the Desh Clinic and Diagnostic Centre had been using electricity illegally for a long time.

Acting on a tip-off, the mobile court of M Kamruzzaman nabbed them on May 28. However, a regular case was filed in this regard.
