DHAKA: District and Sessions Judge Court of Dhaka rejected the bail plea of BNP leader and also former MP Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papia in nine cases of arson attack and sabotages.

The court of Judge M Qamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order after the hearing of bail plea filed by Papia’s lawyer Iqbal Hssain.

Earlier on January, a total of nine cases have been filed for torching vehicles and creating sabotage during nationwide indefinite hartal and blockade enforced by BNP led 20-party alliance.

On June 16, Metropolitan Magistrates Mostafizur Rahman, Maruf Hossain and Mahbubur Rahman separately conducted the hearing and sent her to jail while she filed the bail plea after surrendering in the court.
