CHANDPUR: Twelve Jubo Dal leaders and activists, including its district unit president, have sent to jail in arson case in Chandpur.

Senior judicial magistrate Mashrun Salehin on Monday passed the order after rejecting the bail plea.

Earlier, all the accused appeared before the court and appealed for bail.

Defending lawyer Qamrul Islam told banglanews that a goods-carrying truck was set on fire at Chandra of Chandpur sadar upazila on March 18 during the nationwide blockade sponsored by BNP-led 20-party alliance.

Later, police filed case against Jubo Dal leaders and activists in the district.
