DHAKA: BNP spokesperson Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon claimed that their imprisoned joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is critically ill.

He informed the media in a statement on Saturday.

The statement said that Rizvi’s physical condition has deteriorated as he has been imprisoned for over five months.

Currently he is critically ill and it has gradually been worsened, the statement added.

Ripon further claimed that Rizvi now cannot move due to the ache in his waist, legs, hands and stomach.

The BNP spokesperson also demanded the government to grant Rizvi’s bail considering his illness so that he can take proper medical treatment.
