DHAKA: BNP’s Motijheel unit former Ward president Moslehuddin Ahmed (60) died in Central Jail in city on Saturday night.

Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on-duty jailer Zakaria told banglanews that Moslehuddin suddenly fell sick and rushed to the hospital.

On-duty doctor declared him dead on arrival, the jailer added.

Deceased’s younger brother Shamsuddin Masum said that police arrested Moslehuddin on July 1 when he was returning home from Kamalapur mosque after tarabi prayers.

Later, he was sent to jail in a case of creating violence, Masum added.

He further said that he met his elder brother Saturday morning, he was well then. ‘Now, I’ve just been informed that he is dead.’
