DHAKA: BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Tuesday was granted bails in more eight violence cases.
The High Court (HC) bench of Justice KM Abdul Hakim and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das granted the bails after hearing.
However, police filed several violence cases with different thanas in city against Rizvi with the allegation of his involvement in creating violence during the BNP-led anti-government movement.
The HC granted bails in three cases filed with Paltan thana, two with Jatrabari and one with Khilgaon, Mirpur and Mohammadpur thanas each.
Senior lawyer Zainul Abedin filed the bail petitions for Rizvi.
Earlier, the BNP leader was also granted bails in nine violence cases.
