DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined an iftar mahfil hosted by Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the LD Hall-2 of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban Tuesday.

Dr Shirin Sharmin received them on their arrival at the venue.

A special munajat, conducted by Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazley Rabbi Mian, was offered before the iftar seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Leader of the Opposition Begum Raushan Ershad, Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Chief Whip ASM Feroze and the whips were present on the dais.

Besides, ministers, state ministers, parliament members, secretariat officials, PM’s daughter Saima Hossain Putul and journalists joined the iftar.
