DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday hosted an Iftar party in honour of the leaders of various professional organisations at her official residence Gano bhaban.

The Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries and enquired about their well-being.

Before the iftar, special munajat (prayer) was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.

Those who attended the iftar party include Professor Anisuzzaman, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University (DU) AAMS Arefin Siddique, FBCCI president Abdul Matlub Ahmed, also chairman of Nitol-Niloy Group of Industries, poet Syed Shamsul Haque, former adviser to premier Syed Modasser Ali, former health minister AFM Ruhul Haque.

Besides, teachers of different public and private universities, editors and journalists of different newspapers, news agencies and electronic media, physicians, engineers, lawyers, businessmen, intellectuals, poets, writers, singers and sports personalities attended the iftar party.
