DHAKA: BNP chairperson and also former prime minister Khaleda Zia expressed her deep shock at the death of Major General (retd) Amjad Khan Chowdhury, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Pran-RFL Group.
A statement, signed by BNP spokesperson Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon, expressed the condolence on Wednesday night.
The statement said that Amjad had earned reputation during his service at the military. He played an important role in expanding the business and industries in the country after his retirement from the service.
Nation will remember his contribution with profound respect, the statement added.
Major General (retd) Amjad Khan Chowdhury, founder and CEO of Pran-RFL Group, one of the leading business conglomerates of the country, breathed his last at Duke Medical Hospital in North Carolina of USA on Wednesday.
He was 76.
Amjad Khan Chowdhury was under treatment at the hospital for last one month as he had been suffering from diabetic and heart diseases.
