Raise voice against unethical journalism

DHAKA:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged journalists to be vocal against unethical journalism for the interests of their professions.

She said that if you abuse the pen, once the truth will reveal.

The premier came up with warning while distributing aid among insolvent journalists at her office on Thursday.

She handed over financial assistance to the families of the journalists of 177 poor, injured and killed while performing their duties.

Prime Minister said, “We would like to see the practice of objective and constructive journalism in the country. Taking advantages of the freedom of expression, a class of journalists are exercising unethical journalism in society.”

“You should have to raise voice against those individuals for the interest of your career,” the premier advised.

She opined that journalism should be guided by some ethics, rule and regulations. Everyone should have a constructive character.

“All the time, I look forward that the media will not publish such kinds of news that tarnish character of human or cause harm to the country,” she added.

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, AKM Rahmat Ullah MP, among others, also attended the program.
