JESSORE: Detective Branch (DB) of Police submitted a chargesheet against 40 people over the killing of Jessore unit of Jubo League general secretary Alamgir Hossain.
DB police sub-inspector (SI) and also the case’s investigation officer (IO) Abul Khayer submitted the chargesheet to Jessore district court on Monday afternoon.
Confirming the matter to banglanews Jessore court police inspector Rezaul Islam said that DB police has submitted the chargesheet against 40 persons from Ramnagar and Murali Khan Para of Jessore town following the murder of Jubo League leader Alamgir Hossain.
Court sources said that a group of attackers shot and blasted bombs targeting Alamgir at a shop in Rajarhat intersection in the evening of May 25 in 2014.
After rescuing in a critical condition, locals rushed Alamgir to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Dhaka for better treatment as his condition deteriorated.
The Jubo League leader succumbed to his injuries on June 18 undergoing treatment.
