NOAKHALI: Unidentified miscreants chopped a Juba League leader to death in Deoti union under Sonaimuri upazila early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Milon Sarkar, 28, son of Naderuzzaman of Sareng bari in the area. He was office secretary of union Juba League.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Sonaimuri Thana Joydeb said, “Milon went for fishing in the nearby marsh at night. And miscreants chopped him to death at that time.”

Being informed by locals, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
