BNP leader Gayeshwar released from jail

GAZIPUR: BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has got released from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur.

He was released on bail on Tuesday afternoon.

Jailer Bikash Rayhan told banglanews that the documents regarding the bail had reached the jail.

The jail authorities have released the BNP leader after scrutinizing the papers, he added.

However, Gayeshwar was brought to the jail earlier on November 4.

Police filed a case with Rampura Thana of Dhaka city on December 30 in 2013. He received bail on May 7 in 2014 from the High Court in the case.

Later on March 20, police submitted charge-sheet against the BNP leader.

On November 4, a lower court sent Gayeshwar to jail after denying his bail plea. Following his appeal to the High Court, a bench comprising of Justice Mohammad Rezaul Haque and Justice Mohammad Khasruzzaman accepted the bail on November 15 after hearing.
