GAZIPUR: Police detained a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist from a protest rally in Gazipur on Thursday morning.

Earlier in the day, BNP’s student wing JCD brought out a rally from Rajbari road of district town protesting the charge-sheet against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman and others.

Witnesses said that Kazi Azim Uddin College unit JCD men brought out a protest rally led by the unit president Mahmud Hasan Raju.

The protesters fled the scene seeing police in front of BNP office at Shibbari.

Later, police chased the protesters and nabbed a JCD activist Imran Hossain from the spot, they added.
