Khaleda pays tribute to Kazi Zafar

DHAKA: BNP chairperson paid tribute to former prime minister and also Jatiya Party (Zafar) chairman Kazi Zafar Ahmed at his Gulshan residence in city Thursday night.

Earlier at 7:00am, the veteran politician breathed his last at United Hospital in city after a cardiac attack at the age of 76.

The BNP chief also expressed her sympathy to the deceased’s wife Momtaj Begum and daughters Kazi Joya Ahmed and Kazi Sonia Ahmed.

Earlier this evening, BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed paid tribute to the veteran politician.

Family sources said that body of Kazi Zafar will be kept in Gulshan residence till Friday 7:00am so that people can pay their tribute to the leader.

Moreover, his namaz-e-janaza will be held at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) South Plaza at 11:00am and after juma prayers at Baitul Mokarram National Mosque in city.

Born on July 1 in 1939 at an eminent Kazi family in Comilla, Zafar passed Entrance examinations from Khulna Zilla School and Intermediate examinations from Rajshahi Government College.

He had his honors and Masters in history from Dhaka University.
