LAXMIPUR: Miscreants killed a leader of Juba Dal, the youth wing of BNP, by slitting his throat in Kusakhali union of Laxmipur sadar Thursday.

The deceased was identified as M Sabuj, 28, general secretary of Kushakhali union’s ward-1 unit Juba Dal and son of Abu Taher of Siladhi village.

Kushakhali UP Awami League president and also cousin of the deceased Nurul Amin said that Sabuj’s family had a long standing dispute with another family of the area. Following the dispute, miscreants murdered him and fled away the scene.

Confirming the matter, Daserhat police outpost sub-inspector (SI) Jahirul Islam told banglanews that on information, a team of police rushed to the spot.

 Legal action would be taken against the involved after investigation, he added.
