DHAKA: Leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of ruling Awami League (AL), handed over eight leaders-activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, to the authorities of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

They were rounded up from Nazrul Islam Hall of the university at Monday dawn.

BUET unit BCL president Shuvra Joytee Tikader told banglanews that they caught Shibir men with Jamaat-e-Islami books, Compact Discs (CD), documents of suicide attack plan.

Later, they handed over the captives to university administration, he added.

According to him, the Shibir men were then being interrogated at the office of BUET vice-chancellor.
