DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday greeted Hindu community of the country on the eve of Janmashtami, the birth day of Sri Krishna.
The BNP chief greeted the community through a message sent to the media.
Khaleda, in her message, said all the religions, including Hinduism, talked about peace and welfare of humanity.
“Preachers, in every era, had shown the path of truth and virtue. Sri Krishna emerged during the period of a tyrant king. He established truth and virtue in society through quelling the tyrants,” the message added.
Khleda Zia also said, “All religions preach about human unity and give birth to a unique fraternity and at the same time encourage people to a profound sense of goodwill to others”.
Terming Bangladesh as a land where people of all religions have been living harmoniously from a long time, she asked all people to come forward to make people’s lives peaceful.
