DHAKA: Ailing social welfare minister Syed Mohsin Ali has been taken to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for better treatment.

An air ambulance, carrying the minister and two of his family members, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Singapore around 12:45pm.

Social welfare ministry’s public relations officer Maidul Islam Prodhan from the airport confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the minister was admitted to BIRDEM Hospital on September 3 with pneumonia, diabetics and heart-related complexities.

However, his condition improved slightly but has been taken to Singapore for better treatment.
   
His wife Syeda Saira Mohsin and younger daughter Syeda Sabrina Sultana Mohsin are accompanying him, the PRO added.
