SAVAR, DHAKA: Police arrested Savar municipality mayor and also municipality unit BNP president M Refatullah in a case for sabotages during BNP-called hartal.
 
Refatullah was picked up from Savar on Sunday morning, said Dhaka district senior assistant police super Russel Sheikh.
 
He told banglanews that the BNP leader arrested in a case for killing people torching and vandalizing vehicles during BNP endorsed hartal blockade.

M Refatullah suspended from mayoral post in a case of Rana Plaza collapse on April 24 in 2013.

In reply to his writ petition, the High Court on October 12 ordered local government ministry to withdraw his suspension order. 

Then, as per court order, the ministry sent a letter withdrawing his suspension order on October 21.

On that day, M Refatullah rejoined his office as mayor.
