MYMENSINGH: Detective Branch (DB) of police on Tuesday detained five activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, while holding a clandestine meeting at Kewatkhali area of the Sadar town.

The detainees were identified as Nasim, 24, Saleh Uddin, 25, Shafiqul, 25, Shafiqul, 24 and Golam Kabir, 25, students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh.

District DB officer-in-charge (OC) Imarat Hossain Gazi told banglanews that police detained them on charge of planning sabotage.

A case was filed against them, he added.
