DHAKA: The appellate division rejected a petition filed by BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir seeking further extension of deadline for his surrender.

The four-member bench led by Chief Justice SK Sinha passed the order on Monday morning after hearing the petition.

But the court asked to settle the rule that issued by the High Court on bail petition of Mirza Fakhrul in three cases within two weeks.

Khandaker Mahbub Hossain moved for the Mirza Fakhrul while additional attorney general Murad Reza stood for the state.

Earlier on October 6, the apex court extended until November 2 its order asking Fakhrul to surrender before the lower court in three cases.
