DHAKA: The High Court (HC) granted bail to BNP chairperson’s adviser and Journalists’ leader Shawkat Mahmud in three sabotage cases.

An HC bench of Justices M Enayetur Rahim and Amir Hossain passed the order on Sunday. 

Advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain moved for Shawkat Mahmud.

On January 9 this year, police filed two cases with Ramna Thana while a case with Khilgaon Thanaon January 30 during anti-government movement.

Police arrested Shawkat Mahmud in sabotage case on September 18. He is now at Khashimpur jail.
