DHAKA: The authority of Dhaka Central Jail on Thursday gave permission to the family members of death row convict war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury to meet him at the jail.

The family sources of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The source also said two sons Hummam Quader Chowdhury and Fazlul Quader Chowdhury sought permission to the jail authority a few days ago to meet with their father.

Family members are currently taking preparations to go to meet him, it added.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court (SC) upheld death sentence for BNP leader Salauddin Qauder Chowdhury, rejecting his review petition, for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

A 4-member full bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice SK Sinha pronounced its final verdict.

The other members include Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Hasan Foez Siddique and Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.
