DHAKA: Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Huq on Tuesday categorically said the government would take steps to confiscate moveable and immoveable properties of war criminals.

The minister further said Jamaat-e-Islami would be banned soon for its involvement in war crimes in 1971.

He made the assertion while addressing a discussion titled ‘Bangabandhu, Liberation War and Films of Bangladesh’ at National Press Club in city this morning.

Mozammel Huq also said actions would be taken against them after amending the Constitution, if it is necessary.

State minister for local government and cooperatives Division Mashiur Rahaman Ranga addressed the program as special guest.
