DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) has identified 1,184 polling centres risky out of 3,403 across the country ahead of Municipal polls.

EC made the list on the basis of a report from Home Ministry, said a source wishing anonymity.

There 348 risky polling centres in Dhaka division, 118 in Rangpur, 246 in Rajshahi, 195 in Khulna, 45 in Sylhet, 63 in Barisal and 169 risky centres in Chittagong.

Some 20 law enforcers will be deployed in each of those centres on voting day while over 70,000 members of different law enforcing agencies will be on duty.

Voting will be held on December 30 across 233 municipal areas across the country. For the first time, mayoral candidates are competing under party banner.
