NARAIL: A case has been filed against BNP chairperson with a Narail district court on Thursday for casting doubts over the figure of death toll during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.
Raihan Faruqui Imam, son of one Yusuf Ali, hailed from Chanpail village under Naragati Thana filed the case.
Taking cognizance to the case, Judge M Zakaria asked for conducting judicial investigation.
The case statement said on December 21, during addressing a rally of freedom fighters in Dhaka, Khaleda Zia said there was a debate whether 30-lakh people were killed in the Liberation War.
Besides, indicating Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the BNP chief said he did not sought for independent of Bangladesh rather wanted to be Prime Minister of Pakistan, the statement added.
February 2 of 2016 has been fixed as the next date of the case, reported banglanews correspondent.
