DHAKA: Chamber Judge of Supreme Court (SC) Appellate Division has put a stay order on High Court (HC) verdict over arranging municipal polls in Gafargaon of Mymensingh and Ranisankail of Thakurgaon.
Court of Justice Mohammad Iman Ali on Thursday (December 24) passed the six-month stay order over the HC verdict.
Lawyers said that the SC order will pave the way to hold municipality polls in the respective areas.
Earlier on December 9, the HC passed an order to spot municipality election in Ranisankail over the dispute on border marking.
Later on December 22, the HC also passed the postponement order over municipality polls in Gafargaon.
