SATKHIRA: Police arrested 28 people including 11 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and BNP conducting drives in different parts of Satkhira district on Friday.

Among the arrestees, 10 were from Jamaat and one from BNP. The others were accused in several cases.

Satkhira police sub-inspector (SI) Enamul Haque told banglanews that the drives were conducted from Thursday night to Friday morning.

During the drives, 10 were arrested from Sadar upazila while nine from Kolaroa, three from Kaliganj and two from Shyamnagar, Ashashuni and Debhata upazilas of the district, he added.
