Court orders probe against Khaleda BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia

DHAKA: A court in Dhaka order law enforcers to take action after investigation into the sedition allegation filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for her ‘confusing’ remark over the number of liberation war martyrs.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikur Rahman on Sunday passed the order after hearing a petition in this regard.

Lawyer and president of Bangabandhu Foundation Mashiur Malek filed the case in a Dhaka court this morning.

Shahbagh Thana officer-in-charge (OC) was asked to take legal action after investigation.

Advocate Kazi Nazibullah Hiro moved for the plaintiff.

In a discussion program held on December 21, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia said that there are controversies over the accurate number of martyrs in country’s Liberation War.

There are also many books and documents on the controversies, she added.
