DHAKA: BNP office secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that the ruling Awami League (AL) cadres have occupied poll centers in so far 157 municipalities out of 234.
He made this allegation at a press conference held at party headquarters in city’s Nayapaltan area on Wednesday (December 30).
According to the BNP leader, the ruling party cadres have either completely or partially occupied poll centers in 157 municipalities.
‘The cadres have stuffed the ballots in front of administration.’
He further alleged that the BNP agents were ousted from the centers in many places with the assistance of the administration and in some places in front of the administration.
‘Moreover, BNP people came under attacks and many were made arrested.’
He also demanded the government to arrange re-election in the areas where poll centers were occupied, voting cancelled and boycotted by the BNP candidates.
Rizvi also opined that the Election Commission (EC) has worked as a sub-servant of the government.
