DHAKA: Dhaka city Awami League (AL) acting president MA Aziz was buried at Azimpur graveyard in city on Saturday night (January 23).

He was buried here around 9:15pm.

MA Aziz, 68, breathed his last at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in city at 1:10pm. He had been suffering from heart decease for a long.

His first Janaza was held in front of AL central office in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue after maghrib prayers.

Public administration minister and also AL general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam, and relief and disaster management minister, and also city unit AL general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, among others, were present at the Janaza.

Later, his second namaz-e-janaza was held at Bakshibazar Alia Madrasa ground in city after Esha prayers.

Local lawmaker Haji Mohammad Selim, former lawmaker Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and AL leaders and activists and relatives took part in the Janaza here around 8:30pm.

President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury expressed their deep condolences over the demise of the veteran political leader.
