Summons at Khaleda Zia’s house

DHAKA: The summons issued by the Dhaka court in a sedition case has been pasted Tuesday (January 26) on the boundary wall of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s house following a against her.

Metropolitan magistrate Rashed Talukdar issued the summons mentioning Khaleda Zia to be present before the court on March 3.

The case was filed with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court against the BNP chief over her comment on the accurate number of country’s liberation war martyrs.

However, sources said that the summons notice was hanged on the gate of Khaleda Zia’s house in city’s Gulshan area as none received it.

Earlier on December 21, the BNP chief at her party organized rally of freedom fighters commented that there is controversy over the accurate number of people, who sacrificed their lives during the country’s war of independence in 1971.

As a protest of the comment, Supreme Court Bar Association former general secretary Dr Momtajuddin Ahmed Mehedi filed a sedition case against Khaleda Zia.
