DHAKA: Opposition leader Raushan Ershad has sought intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over the settlement of internal dispute of opposition Jatiya Party (JP).

At a meeting with the Prime Minister held at PM office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban during maghreb prayer break of ongoing parliament session on Thursday (January 28), the JP parliamentary party leader sought her intervention.

The JP leader and water resources minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, labor and employment state minister Mujibul Haque Chunnu, JP presidium member Fakhrul Imam and opposition chief whip M Tajul Islam Chowdhury were also present at the meeting.

After around 30-minute meeting with the PM, the opposition leader talked to her party’s MPs at her office in the house.

Meeting sources said the ongoing dispute in JP over making GM Qauder as the party’s co-chairman and Ruhul Amin Hawlader as its secretary general was discussed in the meeting and sought PM’s interference to settle the crisis.
