DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia approved the 736-member strong committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student front of BNP.

The JCD committee, five times bigger than that mentioned in party constitution, got the BNP chief’s nod in the late hour of Saturday, several BNP sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Alongside the central committee, New JCD committees for the Dhaka University along with different hall units JCD, Jagannath University, Jahangirnagar University, and four units of Dhaka Metropolitan and district were also announced.

Central committee president and general secretary on Saturday approved the committees of different units.

The committee was made public through a statement signed by JCD office secretary Abdus Sattar around 12:30am on Sunday.

The BNP chief approved the full committee after 16 months of approval of 153-member central committee made Abdul Qader Bhuiyan Jewel and Habibur Rashid Habib as the President and the General Secretary of JCD in October 15, 2014.

Al Mehedi Talukder of Masterda Surya Sen Hall was made president and Abul Bashar Siddqui as general secretary of Dhaka University unit JCD.
