Probe report in Khaleda-Gayeshwar case Mar 3

DHAKA: A court in Dhaka deferred the date to March 3 for submission of probe report in the defamation case against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and its standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy.

Court of Metropolitan magistrate M Nuru Mia re-fixed the date, as police did not submit the probe report for the case on Sunday (February 7).

On February 5, Jananetri Parisad president AB Siddqui filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court for disseminating confusing information over the number of martyrs and Bangabandhu’s contribution in the country’s war of independence.

On the day, Court of Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Haq asked Shahbagh Thana to investigate into the allegation and submit the report on February 7 (Sunday).

On December 21, 2015 Khaleda Zia, in a public rally, said that there are controversies over how many were martyred in the liberation war.
