DHAKA: A Dhaka court Thursday adjourned till February 18 the hearing of Zia Charitable Trust graft case against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and three others.
Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of the Special Judge Court-3 set up on Alia Madrasa premises fixed the date after the defense partially cross-examined investigating officer (IO) of the case and Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy director Harun-or Rashid.
Accused Ziaul Islam Munna’s lawyer advocate Aminul Islam testified him.
On August 8, 2011, ACC filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four people, including Khaleda Zia, of abusing power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
The other accused in the case are Harris Chowdhury, Ziaul Islam Munna, assistant private secretary (APS) to Harris and Monirul Islam Khan, APS to Sadeque Hossain Khoka, mayor of the erstwhile Dhaka City Corporation.
