MEHERPUR: A leader of Juba League, youth wing of ruling Awami League, was found dead at Brahmandi Nishipur village of Gangni upazila of Meherpur on Saturday.

The deceased was Shukur Ali, 50, publicity secretary of Nishipur ward Juba League.

Locals recovered the body of Shukur from a pond of the village around 7:00am.

The body bore injury marks in head and neck, said Gangni thana officer-in-charge (OC) Akram Hossain told banglanews that on information, police force has been sent to the spot.
