SAVAR, DHAKA: Miscreants set fire to two passenger buses of Shyamali Paribahan in Savar, on outskirts of Dhaka city, at the beginning of daylong hartal, called by Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday.

The incident took place in front to NR CNG Filling station at Boliapur on Dhaka-Aricha highway at dawn.

Police sources said miscreants torched two buses at NR CNG Filling station of Shyamali group. On information, two firefighting units from Savar fire station brought the blaze under control after one hour’s effort.
 
Both the buses were burnt totally in the fire. But no casualty was reported as no passenger was inside the buses.

Being informed, Savar Model Thana police and RAB members visited the spot.

Shyamali Group officers blamed hartal supporters for torching their two buses in support of Jamaat-e-Islami’s dawn-to dusk hartal.

Savar Model Thana officer in charge (OC) SM Kamruzzaman told banglanews that they are investigation into the matter to trace who are involved in the torching of buses.
