Satkhira: Officials cancelled voting in three centers even before it started due to violence.
Tala upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mahbubur Rahman told banglanews a local AL leader and his younger brother sustained bullet-injuries as police opened fire to them while they were casting fake votes in a center here.
Confirming the matter, he told banglanews that EC will take the decision of arranging voting in those centers later.
Meanwhile, JASAD nominated chairman candidate freedom fighter Shahjahan Ali submitted a written statement to the returning officer alleging vote rigging in five centers at Chandanpur union under Kalaroa upazila.
Besides, the officials cancelled voting in three centers under Koikhali union under Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district on charge of beating the presiding officer and casting fake votes here.
Shyamnagar upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Abu Sayed Manzur Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Barisal: Polls officials cancelled voting at Popular High School of Raipasha Karapur Union under Barisal sadar upazila in the morning as five people were injured in violence over elections here.
