RANGPUR: Police arrested 56 people, who are accused in several cases, by conducting special drives from Friday night to Saturday early morning (April 16).

The arrestees also included leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir.

Mithapukur Thana police inspector (investigation) Mohammad Mahinul Islam told banglanews that police arrested 56 people, accused in different cases, including of arson attacks in 2014 in the district.

Rangpur additional police super Abdullah Al Faruk told banglanews that they had conducted a special drive and arrested 56 persons.
