DHAKA: Law minister Anisul Huq said that senior journalist Shafik Rehman was arrested on specific ground.

The minister made the assertion to the media after inaugurating a training course of district registrars at Judicial Administration Training Institute in city on Sunday (April 17).

‘The case is now under-investigation. He will be punished if found guilty, otherwise he will be freed.’

Earlier on April 16, detective branch (DB) of police arrested Shafik Rehman from his Eskaton Garden residence in city in a case filed with Paltan Thana over conspiring to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son and also her ICT advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
