RANGPUR: Police detained some 76 people including two Jamaat men, accused in sabotage case, in Mithapukur and Pirgaccha Thanas of the district on Saturday (April 30).

Mithapukur Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir and Pirgachha Thana OC Aminul Islam informed banglanews that the convicts were at large from long ago and could not be nabbed. They were held after conducting several drives in the areas.

The detainees were accused under stealing-robbery and anti-terrorism act, they added.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Senior Assistant Police Super (ASP B-circle) Md. Saifur Rahman said the drive will be continued.
