DHAKA: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami called 24-hour hartal from Thursday morning (May 12) protesting the execution of party’s Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami for his crimes against humanity and war crimes.

The nationwide general strike will be observed from Thursday 5:00am to Friday 5:00am, says a press release issued by Jamaat-e-Islami early Wednesday (May 11).

Jamaat-e-Islami will also organize “Gayebana Janaja (Funeral prayer in absentia)” on Wednesday both in home and abroad.

Special prayer program will be held on Friday (May 13) for Matiur Rahman Nizami.
