RAJSHAHI: Police detained at least 59 persons including the Rajshahi unit acting ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Abul Hashem for several crimes in the district on Tuesday night (May 10).

Rajshahi metropolitan police spokesman and also assistant commissioner Ifte Khayer Al informed the matter to banglnews on Wednesday (May 11).

He said that Motihar thana police arrested Jamaat leader Hashem, who was accused in several sabotage cases.

Among the other 58 detainees, 31 were warranted, four drug peddlers, and 23 drug addicts.
